RV Sales Up or Down?

Tuesday, April 29th @ 7:31 PMpost viewed 220 times

Ever wondered how the RV industry is doing nationwide? Well, I've got some meaty info to tell you about the different types of RV's and retails sales.

The nationwide statistics is just that... an overall national number of RV retails sales around the country. And of course, each state may be different than the overall statistics. I know that our dealership in Oklahoma had the best April in the stores history this year 2008. But in some parts of the country, the high fuel costs and declining housing prices have created challenges for RV dealers in 2007.

According to Statisticsl Surveys, Inc., an independent market research firm, all RV types except travel trailers (or what some call bumper pulls... even though you don't actually attach it to a bumper) declined in 2007 compared to 2006. Yep, I know it's 2008, but you know how statistical folks do their numbers... slow and steady.

Here's how it broke down by RV type comparing 2007 to 2006 retail sales.

Travel Trailers, up 5.4%
Fifth Wheels, down 4.6%
Tent Trailers, down 10.3%
Motorhomes Class A (Gas & Diesel, down 7.7%
Motorhomes Class C, down 3.1%

There you have it.

Have you heard of Dr. George LaBar?  Let me tell you about him and why The RVers Guide to the National Wildlife Refuges is going to be a great book for you to own if you're and RVer.

Who is George?  He and his wife Joan, began their 2-year odyssey of visiting National Wildlife Refuges in September, 2005.  During the course of their travels, they logged nearly 90,000 miles and pulled their 32’ Keystone Challenger 5th wheel through 49 states.  The LaBars have three grown children in Maine, Alaska and New Mexico.  They have now taken up residence in Dillon, Montana.

But that's only a bit about the background of Dr. George LaBar.  Below I'll give you a link to learn more about him and his new book entitled The RVers Guide to the Natiional Wildlife Refuges.

Here's the best news!  You can get you're copy of this great book "Exclusively" right here at the RVInfoCenter.  That's right, we have a temporary exclusive arrangement with Dr. LaBar to offer this downloadable book to it's guests and members.
